Vaccines & preventive care
The puppy vaccination schedule, explained
Which shots your puppy needs, when, and why — plus how Singapore’s licensing and rabies-free status affect the plan.
Vaccinations protect your puppy from serious, often fatal diseases while their own immunity is still developing. Core vaccines are recommended for almost every dog; non-core vaccines depend on lifestyle and risk.
The typical core schedule
- 6–8 weeks: first combination vaccine (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus)
- 10–12 weeks: second combination vaccine
- 14–16 weeks: final puppy booster
- 12 months: first adult booster, then as advised by your vet
Until the course is complete
Your puppy is not fully protected until about two weeks after the final shot. Until then, avoid places where unvaccinated dogs gather. Your vet can advise on safe, controlled socialisation in the meantime — which is just as important for development.
