Annual rabies vaccination drives for domestic and community dogs, organised by the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) Phuket Province in partnership with Phuket Municipality. The Soi Dog Foundation also runs supplemental vaccination programs for street dog populations across the island. IMPORTANT: Thailand is NOT rabies-free — annual rabies vaccination is legally required under the Rabies Control Act B.E. 2535 and is critically important for all dogs in Phuket, where contact with unvaccinated street dogs is common. Dog bites or suspected rabies exposure require immediate medical attention and post-exposure prophylaxis.
